Paul Mazurkiewicz – “Tips for Metal drummers” course
One of two remaining original members of Cannibal Corpse, drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz is a veritable force to be reckoned with. A composer and primary songwriter of the group, Paul’s intricate lyrics are recognized as being the group’s most complex, as seen in songs such as ‘Monolith,’ ‘Dead Human Collection,’ ‘Worm Infested,’ and ‘Frantic Disembowelment.’ Able to belt out fast, consistent drum tempos as well as slow, technical patterns, it’s no wonder Paul has been a staple of the group since the beginning.
Paul was originally in Tirant Sin alongside former Cannibal Corpse vocalist Chris Barnes, former CC guitarist Bob Rusay, Joe Morelli and Rich Ziegler back in 1986. He joined Cannibal Corpse upon meeting bassist Alex Webster and former guitarist Jack Owen, who were at that point in their own band, Beyond Death. Paul has said to have been in side projects here and there, among others Path of Man with Jack Owen, but has never strayed too far from Cannibal Corpse. Paul uses Tama Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Axis Pedals, and Regal Tip Sticks.
